What do I need to be able to watch?

You do not need to download anything to view the live stream. The video plays automatically in your browser.

You need a minimum of 10Mb/10Mb Internet speed for clear video quality, check at http://www.speedtest.net. For best results, we recommend that you use an Ethernet cable to connect to your internet during the live stream. Wifi works well too, but an Ethernet connection will be much more reliable. Please note that Nordic Business Forum is not responsible for any data connection charges related to your viewing on mobile devices or from alternative platforms or services.

You can test the live stream one day before the event. If you are a business pass holder, you will receive an email with the testing dates and times closer to the event date.

When it comes to our online events, they are streamed and hosted on a platform called Brella. To be able to watch the speeches or stream the content, you need to create a Brella account through a unique link we send to you by email. For each online event the link is different, so when signing up for our online events, just follow the instructions we provide to you by email.

What is video library?

The video library is one of the features of our online platform. The library includes selected recordings of past event keynotes and interviews, monthly webinars, plus the recordings of the 2021 Nordic Business Forum events that become available after their original broadcast for 30 days.

Who has access to the video library?

The video library access is included in both private and business passes. In addition, everyone who has a ticket to any 2021 Nordic Business Forum event, has access to the library. Please note that if you cancel your ticket(s), your access to our video library will automatically be terminated.

The above-mentioned customers have access to all the video library content until 31 October 2021. The order will not automatically renew.

Purchasing the access

What's the difference between the Live Stream Passes?

What separates the products is the intended use-case.

Private Pass is meant for private use by one person (only). The Private Pass holder is not allowed to use the service for public screenings. The Private Pass includes the live stream to Nordic Business Forum Helsinki 2021, Oslo Business Forum 2021, and a full-year access to our video library.

Business Pass is for groups – for example, companies, schools, and organizations. The Business Pass holder is allowed to use the service for a group screening (for employees, customers, students, or others). A group screening includes any occasion where the stream or recording is displayed to multiple viewers (i.e. more than one). The Business Pass includes the live stream to Nordic Business Forum Helsinki 2021, Oslo Business Forum 2021, and all online events in 2020 and 2021. The Business Pass holder can also stream our video library content for a full year.

The Streaming Pass for Remote Groups allows you to embed our live stream to your password-protected website. This solution is our new pilot for our next online event on 24 September.

Please note: Nordic Business Forum reserves the right to cancel your purchase without a refund if you violate the terms of your pass or if we detect any misuse.

Does the Live Stream Pass subscription automatically renew?

No. Your purchase does not automatically renew. For the live stream passes that are purchased now, the access automatically ends on 31 October 2021.

What VAT rules and rates apply?

For Finnish customers (company or a consumer), a 24% VAT is added

For VAT registered organizations from another EU country (other than Finland), no VAT is added if the customer has a valid VAT number.

For organizations and consumers from another EU country (or in case the customer has no valid VAT number), the VAT will be applied according to the customer’s home country VAT rules.

For non-EU customers, no VAT is added.

Networking on the live stream

You may network with other live stream viewers and chat with them online through Brella, a networking app. This platform provides a wonderful opportunity for you to meet each other virtually and arrange meetings and discussions. Brella is very easy to use, and you can also start using it ahead of the event to make the most of it.

Here’s how Brella works:

  • Download the Brella app for iOs or for Android or use the desktop version brella.io
  • Log in with LinkedIn, Google, or Facebook, or create an account using your email address
  • Enter event code [Visible to registered users only]
  • Fill in your profile and start networking

Please note: all our online events are streamed through the Brella platform, which means that networking happens on the same platform as the live stream itself.

Sending questions to the speakers

Some of the speakers have time at the end of their sessions to answer questions from the audience. If you’d like to participate in this Q&A, you can submit a question using the web-based application Slido.

How to submit a question:

  1. Go to the event stream on Slido by clicking this link or head to www.sli.do frontpage and submit event code: [event codes for 2021 not yet available]
  2. Enter your question (and name, if you’d like), then click “Send”
  3. You can also upvote other submissions to help us pick from the most popular questions

P.S. Questions can also be submitted inside the Brella App. See “Networking on the live stream” from above for instructions to download Brella.

Multiple camera angles

You can navigate manually between different camera angles during the live stream. For most live stream event watchers, we recommend that you follow the official broadcast. It will give you the best, uninterrupted view of the stage.

If you have multiple screens available for the live stream, you may want to show additional camera angles in addition to the official broadcast. To do this, navigate to live.nbforum.com on another browser tab/window and select your another camera angle. You can then move that tab or window to the monitors that you have at your disposal.

Please note: when watching the live stream of our online events, navigating between different camera angels is not possible.

Simultaneous interpretation & Translation services

Please note: Simultaneous interpretation is only available for the Nordic Business Forum main event in Helsinki.

The primary language at Nordic Business Forum events is English. However, we also provide simultaneous interpretation in Finnish, Russian, or Estonian. Live stream viewers have two ways to turn on a secondary language: individually using a smartphone and headphones or by using the alternative audio options on the broadcast menu.

1. Access the simultaneous translation with a smartphone and headphones

When you log in to the live stream platform, navigate to the “Interpretation” page. Here, you can find passwords needed to access the Finnish interpretation. Share the URL of the “Interpretation” page together with the password with the viewers who need the translation service.

To use this method, every viewer needs:

  • a smartphone with a wifi or data connection
  • the external link to the interpretation audio feed, and access password
  • headphones to hear the interpretation

2. Switch the broadcast language directly from the broadcast menu when you are watching “Broadcast B”.

On the video player window at the “Watch Live Stream” page, select your chosen audio track from player audio settings!

To make sure that you hear the correct audio track, make sure to follow these steps to configure your sound preferences:

Windows:

  1. Right-click on the Volume icon on the system tray and choose “Sounds”
  2. Choose “Playback” from the available options
  3. Select the device that you are using to listen to the broadcast and move on to “Properties”
  4. From the “Speaker” window, you should have access to the “Levels” tab
  5. Use the “Balance” slider to adjust the distribution of sound from left to right speaker. The translated audio track will come out from the right speaker.

Mac OS:

  1. Click on the Volume icon in the menu bar and select “Sound Preferences…”
  2. Navigate to the “Output” tab
  3. Select the device that you are using to listen to the broadcast
  4. Use the “Balance” slider to adjust the distribution of sound from left to right speaker. The translated audio track will come out from the right speaker.

Is the live stream available on mobile devices?

Yes, it’s available on all platforms including mobile devices, and you can access it just as you would on a computer. Navigate to live.nbforum.com, log in using your account details, and start streaming as usual. Please note: the video stream may not work on Windows phone devices.

At our online events, the stream works also on mobile devices. However, we recommend using a desktop device and Google Chrome browser in order to get the best possible experience.

How to use Chromecast with Nordic Business Forum Live?

You can use a Chromecast device to show a Chrome tab or your screen on your TV.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Cast.
  3. Choose your Chromecast device where you want to watch the content.
    • If you’re already using the Chromecast, your content will replace what’s on your TV.
  4. When you’re done, to the right of the address bar, click Cast Cast and then Stop.

I'm having problems with the live stream, help!

If you have problems with the live stream broadcast – such as slow, unsynchronized sound and picture, black screens, lagging audio, or other problems – please try switching to alternative broadcast channels. These problems may be the result of a slow internet connection or technical issues with the player.

In the lower righthand corner of the video player, you will see a drop-down list of broadcast streams and camera angles to choose from. Our official broadcast has three channels, labeled A, B, and C. Try switching between them to see if the problems resolve themselves.

If the problems persist, please contact our customer care chat.
