What do I need to be able to watch?

You do not need to download anything to view the live stream. The video plays automatically in your browser.

You need a minimum of 10Mb/10Mb Internet speed for clear video quality, check at http://www.speedtest.net. For best results, we recommend that you use an Ethernet cable to connect to your internet during the live stream. Wifi works well too, but an Ethernet connection will be much more reliable. Please note that Nordic Business Forum is not responsible for any data connection charges related to your viewing on mobile devices or from alternative platforms or services. Please be aware that we are not responsible for data connection charges to view the stream on any platform or service.

You can test the live stream one day before the event. If you are a business pass holder, you will receive an email with the testing dates and times closer to the event date.

What is video library?

The video library is one of the features of our online platform. The library includes selected recordings of past event speeches and interviews, monthly webinars, plus the recordings of the 2020 Nordic Business Forum events that become available after their original broadcast for 90 days.

Who has access to the video library?

The video library access is included in all the 2020 live stream passes – both private and business passes. In addition, everyone who has a ticket to any 2020 Nordic Business Forum event, has access to the library.

The above-mentioned ticket holders have access to all the video library content until 30.6.2021. The order will not automatically renew.

What's the difference between the Private Pass and the Business Pass?

Live Stream pass comes in two types: private and business. What separates the products is the intended use-case.

Private Pass is meant for private use by one person (only). The Private Pass holder is not allowed to use the service for public screenings.

Business Pass is for companies, schools, and organizations. It includes ten (10) Private Passes that can be shared with selected individuals. The pass gives the individual users access to the live stream, event recordings and the content of the video library. The Business Pass holder is also allowed to use the service for a public screening (for employees, customers, students, or others). A public screening includes any occasion where the stream or recording is displayed to multiple viewers (i.e. more than one).

Please note: Nordic Business Forum reserves the right to cancel your purchase without a refund if you violate the terms of your pass or if we detect any misuse.

Can I buy the Live Stream Pass in advance? How do I access the broadcast on the event day?

Yes, and we encourage it! We recommend that you purchase your Live Stream Pass ahead of time to avoid the virtual line (yes, even on the internet, there are queues).

If you’re prepared with your login information, all you have to do on the day is head to live.nbforum.com, sign in to your account, and start watching the broadcast. If you’d like to test it, you can connect a few minutes before the show to test the connection. Our Live Stream Customer Care team is able to help you troubleshoot any issues that come up.

Networking on the live stream

You may network with other live stream viewers and chat with them online through Brella, a networking app. This platform provides a wonderful opportunity for you to meet each other virtually and arrange meetings and discussions. Brella is very easy to use, and you can also start using it ahead of the event to make the most of it.

Here’s how Brella works:

  • Download the Brella app for iOs or for Android or use the desktop version brella.io
  • Log in with LinkedIn, Google, or Facebook, or create an account using your email address
  • Enter event code [Visible to registered users only]
  • Fill in your profile and start networking

Sending questions to the speakers

Some of the speakers have time at the end of their sessions to answer questions from the audience. If you’d like to participate in this Q&A, you can submit a question using the web-based application Slido.

How to submit a question:

  1. Go to the event stream on Slido by clicking this link or head to www.sli.do frontpage and submit event code: [event codes for 2020 not yet available]
  2. Enter your question (and name, if you’d like), then click “Send”
  3. You can also upvote other submissions to help us pick from the most popular questions

P.S. Questions can also be submitted inside the Brella App. See “Networking on the live stream” from above for instructions to download Brella.

Multiple camera angles

You can navigate manually between different camera angles during the live stream. For most live stream event watchers, we recommend that you follow the official broadcast. It will give you the best, uninterrupted view of the stage.

If you have multiple screens available for the live stream, you may want to show additional camera angles in addition to the official broadcast. To do this, navigate to live.nbforum.com on another browser tab/window and select your another camera angle. You can then move that tab or window to the monitors that you have at your disposal.

Simultaneous interpretation & Translation services

Please note: Simultaneous interpretation is only available for the Nordic Business Forum main event in Helsinki.

The primary language at Nordic Business Forum events is English. However, we also provide simultaneous interpretation in Finnish, Russian, or Estonian. Live stream viewers have two ways to turn on a secondary language: individually using a smartphone and headphones or by using the alternative audio options on the broadcast menu.

1. Access the simultaneous translation with a smartphone and headphones

When you log in to the live stream platform, navigate to the “Interpretation” page. Here, you can find passwords needed to access the Finnish interpretation. Share the URL of the “Interpretation” page together with the password with the viewers who need the translation service.

To use this method, every viewer needs:

  • a smartphone with a wifi or data connection
  • the external link to the interpretation audio feed, and access password
  • headphones to hear the interpretation

2. Switch the broadcast language directly from the broadcast menu when you are watching “Broadcast B”.

On the video player window at the “Watch Live Stream” page, select your chosen audio track from player audio settings!

To make sure that you hear the correct audio track, make sure to follow these steps to configure your sound preferences:

Windows:

  1. Right-click on the Volume icon on the system tray and choose “Sounds”
  2. Choose “Playback” from the available options
  3. Select the device that you are using to listen to the broadcast and move on to “Properties”
  4. From the “Speaker” window, you should have access to the “Levels” tab
  5. Use the “Balance” slider to adjust the distribution of sound from left to right speaker. The translated audio track will come out from the right speaker.

Mac OS:

  1. Click on the Volume icon in the menu bar and select “Sound Preferences…”
  2. Navigate to the “Output” tab
  3. Select the device that you are using to listen to the broadcast
  4. Use the “Balance” slider to adjust the distribution of sound from left to right speaker. The translated audio track will come out from the right speaker.

Is the live stream available on mobile devices?

Yes, it’s available on all platforms including mobile devices, and you can access it just as you would on a computer. Navigate to live.nbforum.com, log in using your account details, and start streaming as usual.

I'm having problems with the live stream, help!

If you have problems with the live stream broadcast – such as slow, unsynchronized sound and picture, black screens, lagging audio, or other problems – please try switching to alternative broadcast channels. These problems may be the result of a slow internet connection or technical issues with the player.

In the lower righthand corner of the video player, you will see a drop-down list of broadcast streams and camera angles to choose from. Our official broadcast has three channels, labeled A, B, and C. Try switching between them to see if the problems resolve themselves.

If the problems persist, please contact our customer care chat.
